Iran shelling targets deeper inside northern Iraq: mayor

Iran shelling targets deeper inside northern Iraq: mayor

Have you heard any reports of these attacks from main stream media? No? Imagine that! In fact reports from Iraq have been few and far between recently. Why do you think that is? Could it be because the stories to be reported don't fit the paradigm of the main stream media? HMM?

American Thinker: Courage, Cowardice and the Wordsmiths

American Thinker: Courage, Cowardice and the Wordsmiths

This analysis of modern Intellegincia and it's corrupting influence on our society through a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature is the best I've ever read. It's not glamour, glitz and glibness that makes man and life on Earth work. It's the ability to get positive things done. Really flies in the face of conventional wisdom today and is very refreshing. It's the quality that made Ron Reagan so powerful. He realized that aggressive work, communication and impementation of good stuff by good old "average Americans" creates success.

The irony that it takes a certain glibness to communicate the emptiness of glibness is priceless. You gotta read this!

Tough US Welcome for Iran's Ahmadinejad

Tough US Welcome for Iran's Ahmadinejad

I must admit, I never guessed the President of Columbia would have the toughness to talk to Ahmadinejad the way he deserves to be talked to. I had mixed feelings about his appearance at Columbia because I thought he would be coddled and treated as a hero because of his incredibly hateful anti-American and anti-Israeli position. Boy was I wrong. I am very pleased. Finally a semblance of sanity in American Academe.

Clinton campaign kills negative story - Ben Smith - Politico.com

The new media and it's relationship with bloggers, makes control of the media more difficult than ever before. When it does happen, it gets exposed and grows legs in the blogosphere. Once that happens, the MSM can't ignore it any longer. I think this story is a great example of this. We'll see if it grows legs.

The development of this phenomena is one of the truly historic, culture shaping effects of the Internet.

An Open Letter to Sen. John Warner

I am absolutely fuming. I hope I don't regret writing this in this state of mind. I'll let you decide...

An Open Letter to Senator John Warner of Virginia in Response to his Speech Calling for the Pullout of American Troops from Iraq.

8/23/2007

Mr. Warner,

I generally address my public servants with great courtesy and respect, but must admit that after viewing your speech today about an Iraq pullout, I find it incredibly difficult to be restrained.

I am used to political disagreement and don't usually get too aggressive in that regard. I respect everyone’s right to be wrong. It's the nature of our beloved system of government in this greatest nation on earth.

However, I must say that I have given up all hope of having my public servants do anything but sabotage my country, and it's attempts to defend itself and our way of life. I can only hope that Congress will subpoena me so I can make my contempt for you and your peers official and a matter of public record. I would be proud!

As a former Democrat I am used to the Democrats putting political considerations above the health and survival of my family and country. Sadly, it is quite clear that political considerations have trumped the best interest of our country among the Republican party now, and I wonder if there is any hope for us.

I am shocked that you have gone back on your word and are preempting General Patraeus’ report. You are castrating the President, the General and our troops, and are desecrating the horrendous sacrifices already made by incredibly honorable, patriotic Americans in this War on Islamo-Fascism. In war you are defeated when you say you are defeated. How could you do it?!

Mr. Warner, you now have traitorous blood on your hands. This is not an academic political debate over a few billion dollars here or there with nothing more than my hard earned tax money at stake. There are historic, long-term effects. Many potentially catastrophic for the lives of those in our military, in our cities, in public transportation and for moderate Moslems worldwide. We may never have a reliable ally in wartime again.

While you certainly enjoy freedom of speech, there are limits. There are certain things I cannot say to you in this communication. If I choose to do so, I will suffer severe consequences. While a wild threatening rant may temporarily make me feel better, the price I might pay personally and the damage I would do to my cause make it untenable. So I limit my own free speech. Just as I am responsible for my speech, you are responsible for yours. Particularly as a man in your lofty position, your support of the enemy and defeatist position have a tangible impact on both the enemy and our troops. You have become a priceless propaganda pawn for our Islamo-Fascist enemies, right in the midst of our hallowed halls of Government. You may be able to fool yourself and peers in the beltway, but I am no fool and neither are most of my fellow Americans, despite what you apparently believe.

To make the situation even more unjust, the people who will pay the horrendous price for your misguided and dishonest position are innocent Iraqis, moderate Muslims and brave Americans. I would at least have SOME respect for you if you were among those who risk death or maiming if you are wrong. But you don't. You will continue to live the life of the pampered elite regardless of the heavy toll America and it's priceless youth pay.

Mr. Warner, with all due respect, I strenuously insist that for the good of your country, it’s military and citizens and peaceful citizens of the world, you retract your statements of this day, and humbly ask the forgiveness of all those threatened by your incredible error.

I look forward to your official response.

P.S. I am posting this on my blog so it may be a matter of public record.

Sincerely,

Dave Mason

Liberal leaders - who's the real enemy?

A brilliant scholar, author and academic, Paul Kengor has just released
his new book, "The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the fall of Communism".

In it he describes the attempts by Ted Kennedy, John Tunney and other American Legislators to defeat Ronald Reagan by enlisting the help ofthe Soviet Union. This was at the height of the Cold War in 1983! Did it never occur to them that they were colluding with the enemy?! The facts are clear and substantiated by KGB memos and other Soviet diplomaticcommunications between Moscow and their ambassador to the US.

I wonder how much press the story will get in the mainstream media. Of course they have still not let go of Foley and need of Republican leadership to pay the price for one mans misdeeds. Let's see how aggressive they get in pursuing Ted Kennedy et al, and demanding their leaderships' resignation. It would not be possible for the mainstream media to be aggressive enough. Leaving aside Kennedy's history of letting a young woman die in 5 feet of water, it's now clear he's also guilty of treason. Literally! What will it take for Democratic leadership and their PR arm, the American mainstream media, to demand his resignation? Let's see who calls for an investigation in pursuit of the facts and appropriate punishment for this astonishing betrayal of us and our country. As a former Democrat, I am deeply ashamed of my support of these anti-American Quislings.

I used to believe that the difference in opinion between Liberal and Conservative leadership as honest political and policy disagreement, but it's become clear to me that the liberal leadership in this country have lost all American perspective and are willing pawns of any and all Anti-American forces within and without America. Including those who have declared war on you and I and kill American soldiers everyday.

Kengors book will give the mainstream media the opportunity to prove what they always breathlessly proclaim: that they are not biased. Of course they will fail. They have been on the enemies' team for decades. Paul Kengor will be labeled as a right wing religeous freak, who can't be trusted, so the facts don't matter. Let's watch, learn and see if I am wrong.

Let's not let this fade away. A report on these facts was done in the London Times in the early '90's. It never got legs. Things have changed since. We now have the Internet, it's blogs, Talk Radio and Fox News added to your voice to help in the battle of truth and justice.

Important YouTube news you won't hear about...

The brilliant conservative commentator Michele Malkin had her video commentaries removed from YouTube by YouTube's management. Her videos were removed and her account terminated for "offensive" content.

I believe that the Internet's most powerful effect on our culture is the ability of alternative information to flow around the world mostly unfettered by elite journalists who have traditionally had monopolistic control over news and information in the conventional media. We now have bloggers who have repeatedly shot down fraudulent stories by those journalists, and have had huge effects on elections, media companies and their content.

Now we have elitists in Internet media, attempting to take control over the Internet in the same fashion that CBS and their partners in the former "Big 3" did in TV after World War II.

The only mitigating factor in this outrageous power grab is the very Internet they are attempting to control has such low barrier to entry, that alternative broadcast channels will undoutedly allow her to publicize her videos and the foolishness of YouTubes decision.

Hopefully the incredible power and resources of YouTube and their new parent Google will not be able to squash Malkin.

When I heard of this censorship. I couldn'believeve it. Malkin is a very professional commentator, and while controversial, is hardly offensive in the conventional meaning of the word. If Malkin is offensive, then YouTube is itself offensive and should be shut down. (97% of YouTubes content is at best frivolous and often grossly offensive). If this ridiculous attempt to quash political speech weren't so important, I would laugh at the sillyness of YouTube management's judgement.

I hope Malkin can utilize her contacts in the media to publicize her plight and generate enough heat on YouTube to have them reverse their decision.

Let's help! Click here to send an e-mail to YouTube expressing your thoughts on the subject. Let's not let this battle in the political war go to the elitist censors without a fight.

Katrina Truth - Shame on the Media!

I was listening to Dennis Prager on the radio today. One of the most fair and thoughtful hosts in the history of talk radio. For those of you unfamiliar with Dennis, to say he's a restrained and careful communicator is definitely an understatement. His motto is, "I prefer clarity to agreement." He takes great pains to present each side of the story, usually greatly exaggerating the time allotted for the side he disagrees with.

I say all this to recommend a story by that "politically inflamed" hyperbolic media outlet known as Popular Mechanics. Dennis referred to a story run in March 2006 that addresses the facts of Hurricane Katrina, and it's aftermath.

It is an astonishing story to read. The positive aspects of the tragedy have been totally ignored in mainstream media. Really makes them look VERY bad. I've been jaded for years on the media as the result of all of my research and "info-obsession". But this story exposes surprising journalistic irresponsibility in the mainstream media even in light of my prior utter contempt for them.

You must read it! The link is the title above. When are they going to get it? There are reasons they are loosing audience. The fraud this article uncovers is a big one.

This says it all about Clinton, from someone who knows

Of course I will be pounded for attacking Clinton again, but he just won't go away! Like the country music song says, "How can I miss you if you never go away?"

It's incredible to see Clinton melt down on International TV. I thought Chris Wallace
was more than diplomatic in his expression of an important question. At least as important as asking GW Bush why he lied about Iraq.

It is sickening sometimes to see the liberal political games played with the media's complicity,
but as a dear friend always reminds me, "Just let 'em talk, they will reveal themselves
for what they are..."

Clinton did that Sunday, again.

I'm going to switch back...

It's too tough being a conservative. I would like to be right all the time, no matter what the facts are. Then I wouldn't have to research things, think deeply about things, or make any real commitments to particular positions. I could cut my reading load WAY down. I could pretend that good intentions and dialog is all that is required for security and prosperity. I'm really good at those, too!

I'm going to switch back to being liberal. It's much easier.

Here's what I mean:

The Democrats disassemble the CIA in the 70's, then trash the Bush administration for bad intelligence in the '90's.

Certain Clinton administration personnel create rules that prevent sharing of information between the CIA and the FBI. Liberals then attack the Bush administration for the fact that the agencies didn't cooperate in the fight against terror. In fact, the creator of those rules gets to sit on a commission that produces an official "non-partisan" report criticizing the Bush administration for following the rules she created during the Clinton administration.

Bill Clinton cripples the military in the '90's, then the Democrats pound the Bush administration for poor preparesness and stretching the military too thin.

The Democrats hand out money to every special interest and voter block known to man for the last 60 years, then trash the Bush administration for budget excesses in a time of war.

The Democrats in control of Louisiana and New Orleans misappropriate billions of dollars in levy and emergency preparesness funding over the last 5 decades or so, and whine about the Bush administration's handling of the Katrina aftermath.

The Democrats wail about the lack of effective preventative measures in the fight against Islamo-Fascists, then sabotage several important new programs to gather intelligence, prosecute the war, and prevent attacks on America.

The Democrats throw a fit about Fox News, talk radio, Bloggers and other alternative media being too Conservative, all the while funding (with "the people's" money no less),the ultra left wing NPR and PBS for the last 40 years.

The Liberals demand freedom of speech at all costs, yet Democratic Senators threaten to yank ABC's license because the content of a show about the fight against terrorism is too tough on Clinton. Of course it was tough on Bush, too, but that was conveniently left out of the equation.

The Democrats get to say EXACTLY the same incredibly hateful anti-American things as the Islamo-Fascists that want to destroy America say, and still be called patriotic Americans.

The liberals want to profit from the free market/capitalist system, but attack and destroy successful companies that produce profits for shareholders, jobs for working Americans, and taxes for them to squander.

The left wingers get on Air(head) America and scream wildly profane epithets about Conservatives, yet call Conservatives hateful and bigoted.

The Democrats get to call our military personnel baby killers, terrorists and cold-blooded murderers, and say they sincerely support the troops.

The Democrats demand Republicans only "accused" of wrong doing to immediately resign their position, while alowing Democrats "accused" of wrong doing to stay in position and even reward them with new positions of power.

The list goes on ad nauseum. It's much easier than trying to be somewhat consistant and logical, and sometimes wrong. I could be right all the time, with little effort. And I'd really feel good about all my new liberal friends. We could talk about all the stupid, mean, bigoted, unsophisticated &^$##%&* Republicans, all the while smug in my open minded, nuanced, tolerant diversity.

Na, I'd rather put in the effort, fight the uphill battle in the press, and be accused of being a stupid, mean, unsophosticated *%%#$^@. I hope quite a few more Democrats feel the same way. It's the only hope this country has.

9/11 - and another thing...

I know that America is divided in this war on terror. I know many Americans absolutely hate GW Bush. In putting all the amazing 9/11 coverage on radio and TV in perspective, it seemed to me that many who have been enthusiastically, even joyously trashing America, it's military personnel, the President and those who agree with him are using 9/11 as a way of rehabilitating their patriotic bona fides.

In today’s hand wringing, touchy feely mainstream media this passes for real support of our nation and it's people. Just like the anti-war demonstrators, they don't have to do anything difficult, just stand on the bodies of those who died defending their rights to attack and destroy those who defend them now. Demonstrators fulfill their debt of gratitude as Americans by ignorant, loud protestation and journalists have but to speak with a breathless dramatic empathy to prove they are Patriots who care.

Of course every other day they do everything they can to sabotage the efforts of those charged with preventing another 9/11 and pursuing those guilty of attacking America and murdering innocent Americans. These things include carrying news stories of outrageous, unproven charges without even the most elementary journalistic efforts at confirming the story. Time and time again this happens with no apologies, the "journalist" just steps on the carcasses of those destroyed while racing on to the next groundless attack.

Don't get me wrong; I disagree with our President on many important things. I think he could do many things better. But absolutely nothing compares to the importance of our winning this historic war. And I don’t pretend that I can speak or act irresponsibly without having a real effect on our soldiers and their enemies.

History will not be kind to you my friends. While your emotional tributes to those who were murdered are appreciated, it does not clean the blood from your hands you have so willingly thrust in the gore of your fellow Americans while in the pursuit of your incredibly transparent political manipulations.

9/11 again

As I have watched and listened to the many reviews, tributes and memorials of this historic day 5 years ago, I have found myself increasingly doubtful that we as a country have the understanding, the toughness; indeed the will to succeed in this war on terror.

I know how we ended up here. It has a lot to do with the demonization of manhood. There are many shameful legacies of the drug infected freethinking of the ‘60’s. This one is particularly dangerous in times that require quick, strong, sustained action. It isn’t cool to be rough, tough and aggressive. You’ll hear a lot of sophisticated types describe these traits as “cowboy” and unsophisticated. There is an unthinking exaltation of talk and the disparaging of decisiveness and tough action. This is the fallout of the feminism of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s that has castrated this country.

We have not been able to muster the common sense understanding that there is real evil in this world. We risk our lives, the lives of our loved ones and this very nation when we allow our political prejudices and personal conspiracy theories to prevent us from grasping the awful truth – that international evil wants to kill us and we must be willing to do whatever it takes to defeat it. I know there’s evil in the world, and I know it ain't us!

It’s ironic the evil to which we so weakly respond and often excuse and appease, has discarded and abused women and the critical role female traits play in a society and culture. Conversely, we have discarded men and the traditional characteristics of men: strength, physicality and aggression. So we find ourselves in a battle of civilizations, indeed for civilization itself, psychically disarmed by our foolish disdain for traditional male attributes. We may have become incapable of the terrible aggression that is needed to defeat these evil Islamic Fascists.

Two dysfunctional cultures, one in the interest of power and domination abusively discarding half the human equation; the other in the interest of equality, peace and understanding discarding the other, thereby guaranteeing victimhood in the face of the unbridled evil of the first. Sad irony, indeed.

We loose this battle and you’ll witness the violent destruction of feminism like you can’t believe. Just ask the Afghani’s. You’ll see a lock on the freedom of speech unlike anything any American can imagine. Prosperity, freedom, civil rights, social advancement. You name it, if you value it, it will be gone! Including, for some of us, our lives.

How many times do the evil ones have to declare war on us before we hear it? How many more times do they have to assassinate, behead, murder and destroy, before we unite and defeat them?

America has no enemy it cannot defeat, except one: lack of will. If we work together, with strength and determination for as long as it takes, no enemy can vanquish this great country. However, if we continue to bicker, attack our valiant defenders and sabotage ourselves, a few backward thousand will utterly destroy us.

Here's news: Lib says Republican President is stupid...

NBC11.com - Politics - Pelosi Lashes Out At Bush

When Kerry's record is questioned it's the politics of personal destruction. When it's calling the Republican President stupid, it's just facts. When are the Dems going to realize they are sticking their own feet in their mouths. I'm not the only former lib who is seeing the light. They can't have it both ways. Just watch the tenderness with which the media treat any questions about the Democrats, and the demeaning attacking manner in which Republicans are questioned.

Today's headlines are a perfect example. If you believed them, we are failing miserably in Iraq and the economy is going down the tubes. Of course the facts contradict what the Democrats and their partners in crime, the mainstream media, disgorge daily.

If we used the same criteria to judge our effectiveness in World War II, we would have given up after we lost so many B-25's in the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo. We would have convened a congressional commission, crucified everyone in the Military and the Roosevelt Administration and we'd be speaking German or Japanese right now.

We know today's military personnel are of the quality of those of the "Greatest Generation", I hope our politicians and citizens are of the same quality.

Sometimes I wonder.

We don't know who the bad guys are

9/11 relatives blast Giuliani, commission panel

While I support a commision to review the procedures for rescue on 9/11, that's not what this commission is for.

It is highly politicized and people are making the mistake of taking out thier anger and grief on our team.

REMEMBER FOLKS - THE BAD GUYS ARE THE ISAMO-FASCIST ARABS.

It's not George Bush or Rudy Giuliani. No matter how angry you are about the election of 2000, or how much you hate Republicans, you hurt your credibilty when you claim George Bush is worse than Sadaam.

Iraqi's more secure in Second Amendment than Americans in the US

Do you realize that the US occupation forces have a policy of allowing 1 fully automatic AK-47 per household? This is an effort to allow for the cultural history and social circumstances of the native populace.

That is a felony in the US, the home of, and defender of the Constitution. The Second Amendment is proudly and even forcefully promoted in Iraq, and under nearly constant attack here in the US. The irony is staggering.

The Iragi people, some of which are the ENEMY, are allowed to have fully automatic weapons in a war zone! Our hyposrisy is absolutely overwhelming and nonsensical. A friend of mine says that liberalism may be a mental disease. If that's true, this is one of the most profound examples of that. We are insane!

Top News Article | Reuters.com

Top News Article | Reuters.com

Of course it was a wedding party. They have a custom in Irag of putting on weddings 80 miles from civilization, providing an RPG for each guest, and firing at military aircraft. How could we be so callous?

Why is it the press never questions the enemy? Perhaps the headline should be "Iraqi wedding party attendees inexplicably fire on American aircraft".

I'm tired of the negative slant on every single occurence in Iraq. We are winning a war there. As the guy says in the story, "...bad things happen in war." The point is to have as many bad things as possible happen to your enemy, and not you. Good job guys!

WMD used in Iraq...awaiting Kerry apology.

A Sarin gas explosive device, which fully qualifies as a WMD, even for the most rabid Bush hater, has been used by terrorists in Iraq. Wonder how many anti-bush liberals that have been calling Bush a liar, and worse, will now apologize. Since we've been so into apologies lately- let's hear it people!

a new tragic low in American media...

Here's a most disgusting cartoon published today by one of America's premier political cartoonists. Says much about Mr. Rall. None of it any good at all.

This cartoon is no less horrid than idiot KKK types making fun of Dr. Martin Luther Kings assassination. This guy needs to really pay the price for this. If he were standing in front of me, I'd clock him right in the mouth! I was too young to do that when the brave men and women returned from Vietnam and were taunted and abused by the Peaceniks. I can and will now.

It really hurts to know that Pat Tillman and all the other heroes died to ensure that idiots like this could publish this excrement. Makes it all the more cruel.

I respect honest political disagreement, but this is inexcusable. I hope you're proud of yourself Mr. Rall.

Saudi's suffer at the hands of monsters they have created

For decades Saudi Arabia has been a Wahhabist Monarchy. It's ties to Wahhabism are rooted in centuries of tradition. This form of Islam is based on a literal translation of the Koran. This requires the belief that non-Moslems and even other Moslem sects are infidels and therefore mortal enemies to be destroyed.

This government teaches death to Jews and Christians as official state curriculum in Madrassas and Mosques from Dammam to Detroit. This is in direct conflict with Saudi's paradoxical position as Americas best and strongest Arabian ally.

They are now paying for that duplicity. Saudi Arabia, both the government and it's people, must make the decision to cleave to the modern world and its ally the US or capitulate to the Islamo-Fascist extremists they have created, and follow them into seventh century depravity and ultimately their destruction at the hands of the only committed defenders of the free world.

The US must make a similar decision. Do we continue to pretend that the hypocritical Wahhabist roots of the Saudi government can be ignored, or do we begin to understand that it is one of the fundamental causes of the Islamo-Fascist threat, and deal with it accordingly?

Democrats call for the assassination of the Secretary of Defense!

Think the Presidential campaign has been tough already? A Democratic fund raising ad for John Kerry run in a ST. Petersberg, Florida newspaper calls for the execution of the Secretary of Defense!

The ad states, "We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger."

The party of peace, dialog, inclusion and diversity is advocating murdering Rummie. At a time of war, no less! How's that for hypocritical? I hope the secret service throws them all in jail.

I haven't heard the official explanation yet, but let's see how close I can get... "It was an error, we would never advocate murder, or assassination under any circumstances. In the meantime, we are loosing our people in Iraq at an alarming rate and President Bush can only say, "It's been a bad day." This President stole the election and is now murdering our soldiers in Iraq, and paying the rich to take our jobs overseas. We must take our nation back!"

What do you think? I bet I'm pretty close. These guys justify everything they do by demonizing their opponents, and spewing the same old, tired Liberal cliches. They nearly always get away with it. Can you imagine what the backlash would be against a Conservative making the same "mistake". He would be dead. Politically, I mean.

We will see things degrade even further as the election approaches. The Democrats lofty pursuits require that they operate above normal morality and ethics. Their purpose is so great they need not concern themselves with proportion, truthfulness, fairness or facts. It's the ultimate in group narcissism.

Here's the link to the paper, I'd like to see you let them know how you feel. We cannot afford to keep quiet any longer!
