Mark Burnett series scheduled on History channel - Road Runner
I am really looking forward to this series. It's a great example of how entertaining TV can be more than vacuous personalities battling in artificially dangerous and dramatic environments. The Hitle, ah, History Channel is one of my favorite networks. Who can forget the series "Dogfights"? The finest combination of CGA and aerial battle strategy history ever made.
The stories of Stanley and Livingston as individuals are incredible. The story of Stanley's search and their eventual meeting against all odds is nearly mythical. True Providence.
Both men knew how to live. Took great risks to pursue great dreams. Not always with the most elevated of motivation.
If you haven't read any of the dozens of books available, here's a couple written by Stanley and Livingston in the late 19th century that you can read free on line at Google Books. "How I found Livingston" by Stanley and "Explorations of Africa" by Livingston and others. Both are in my library and both are spellbinding.
